Special editorial call

The Journal of oral diagnosis is strongly committed to diversity, equity and inclusion; therefore, the Journal has a permanent special call for original research and review articles dedicated to the study of factors leading to or describing the features resulting from any social inequity in the context of oral diseases and oral cancer. Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts to the journal, which will be evaluated with priority, but undergoing the ordinary peer-review process. For instance, manuscripts in the following categories are welcome for this permanent editorial call:

  • Studies evaluating possible gender, age, religious, and racial inequities in the context of oral diseases and oral cancer;
  • Studies investigating inequities in the accessibility to professional care for diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases and oral cancer;
  • Studies describing and investigating social inequities in the diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases and oral cancer with emphasis on, but not limited to, the reality of Latin America and the Caribbean;
  • Studies investigating and discussing the impact of social determinants on the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of oral diseases and oral cancer;
  • Studies investigating historical determinants that could help us to better understand the current epidemiological features and the clinical presentation of oral diseases and oral cancer with emphasis on, but not limited to, the Latin America and the Caribbean.
