Resumo

A síndrome de Cowden é um distúrbio autossômico dominante raro associado a mutações germinativas no gene PTEN, caracterizado por múltiplos hamartomas e maior risco de malignidade. Uma paciente de 64 anos foi encaminhada para avaliação de lesões papilomatosas na cavidade oral. O exame clínico revelou lesões verrucosas, macrocefalia, ceratoses acras e triquilemomas faciais. Os exames complementares evidenciaram nódulos mamários benignos e polipose gastrointestinal sem transformação maligna. Com base nos achados clínicos, histopatológicos e de imagem, estabeleceu-se o diagnóstico de síndrome de Cowden segundo os critérios do International Cowden Syndrome Consortium. A paciente foi submetida à excisão cirúrgica das lesões papilomatosas orais, seguida de reabilitação protética com próteses totais removíveis, que restauraram a função e a estética. Este relato reforça o papel essencial do cirurgião-dentista no reconhecimento da síndrome de Cowden e na abordagem multidisciplinar necessária para esses pacientes.
