Abstract

Chondromyxoid fibroma is a rare benign bone tumor composed of chondroid and myxoid tissue, multinucleated giant cells, and mineralized areas. It primarily affects the long bones of young adults, and its occurrence in the maxillofacial region is extremely uncommon, with only 34 cases reported in the English-language literature. Radiographically, it may be confused with fibro-osseous lesions such as ossifying fibroma. We present a mandibular case in a 29-year-old woman, including histological analysis with H&E and immunohistochemical staining for α-SMA, vimentin, S-100, CD10, Ki-67, and p53. A six-year clinical and radiographic follow-up is also included.
